I use a password safe and wanted to ensure that deleting ASCII backup copies of the contents I had created were completely removed from the system.

Eraser appears to fit the bill. It’s a security tool for Windows which completely removes sensitive data from the hard drive by overwriting it several times with carefully selected patterns.

It’s installed and integrated into Windows Explorer enabling the Eraser Context menu when right-clicking on an item in the Explorer window.

Seems to work well for me.
